The importance of breathing well and the methodology to achieve it

Oxygen is vital for living and the body needs it to be in perfect condition. We never notice the respiratory process because it is something we do automatically. Although breathing becomes unintentionally, learn to breathe well is important because it is necessary to endow the body of oxygen necessary for a total well – being. So in this post we want to stop is how important it is to find breathing much better.

Phases of breathing

Abdominal breathing

First we will stop in breathing known as belly breathing . When we do the inspiration the diaphragm descends and the abdominal base swells to fill with air. When this happens the diaphragm initiates a slow descent and an ascent in the same way by expelling the air. This slow movement generates a massage in the internal organs that will help to its correct operation. It is the most common type of breathing and we must do it slowly, deeply and intensely.

Costal breathing

The second type of breathing would sack. In this case what we do is dilate the lungs in the middle area, so that we open the rib cage causing the ribs to separate as if it were a bellows. This mode of breathing is used in sports activities or that require more effort. What we do is to breathe less air, but more quickly to equip the body with the oxygen it needs at that moment.

Clavicular respiration

The third type of breathing that will differentiate is called clavicular. It is about breathing with the upper part of the lungs. As explained above, the air in this case opens the part of the clavicle. It is the least recommended way to breathe, since the oxygen supply is small and breathing is very fast and inefficient. It usually happens in times of stress or alarm.

Breathe well

The best way to optimize your breath in our day to day is to combine all three forms of breath. This way of breathing has its basis in yoga and what it seeks is to combine the correct contribution of oxygen to the body in addition to being able to relax much better and make all internal organs work properly. Breathing properly will relieve us of stress and stress. It is therefore necessary to learn to combine the three ways to breathe and get a full breath and more effective.

Complete breathing method

To achieve this full breath what we should do is practice to combine the three ways of breathing. What we recommend lying on your back to concentrate on the process to follow:

  • First we will expel all the air from the lungs
  • With the lungs empty we will let the diaphragm descend and fill the abdominal base of the lungs with air. Little by little and relaxed we will be able to fill it completely without expelling the air.
  • Having filled the lower part of the lungs we must ascend to the middle part and for this we will open the ribs and fill this area with air.
  • Finally we will end up filling the upper part of the lungs, causing the clavicle area to swell

The air must enter at all times slowly and smoothly. In this way we will learn to fill all the lungs and take full advantage of their ability to get the most oxygen. Once this process is finished we will empty the lungs in the same way. We will do it slowly and relaxed starting to empty the same way we started, from the base of the lungs to the part of the clavicle to start over again. Exhale will be slower than inspiration until the lungs are completely emptied.

After this we will notice a better state of relaxation and get us deeper and productive practice breaths to find much better and realize how important it is to do it the right way.
