Get the spare key
Many people keep a spare key with their friend, their parents or a neighbour just in case they are ever locked out of their home. So if you have ever given someone a spare key, give them a ring to find out if they can come and unlock your door for you. Normally this is one of the easiest ways to get back into your home, but it may take them a few hours to arrive, especially if they are working.
Look for a hidden key
Lots of people hide keys in their garden, so if you have done this you can find the hidden key. However, it is worth noting that this system results in thousands of burglaries every year – https://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/property/news/11332176/Spare-key-hiding-spots-like-under-plant-pots-most-likely-to-be-found-by-burglars-LV-Insurance-reveals.html.

Try the other doors
If you know that the front door is locked, the first thing that you should do is check the back door to see if it is locked too. This may require you to climb over a fence, so only do this if you really think that there is a chance that the back door is unlocked.
Try the windows
The next thing that you can do is go around the house to see if any of the windows open. It can be dangerous to leave windows on the bottom floor open, especially if no one is in, as it can attract burglars, but still many people leave windows at the back of the home slightly ajar. So check the windows in your back garden to see if any can be used as a point of entry.
Try the dog door
This isn’t a great option, but it could work if you are very small and slim.
