Amazon’s Kindle platform is fantastic for lovers of literature, even for those who prefer paperback. For a relatively affordable price you can have an Amazon eBook, or for less money still carry it on your smartphone or have it on your PC.
And is that the eBook is a device that does not seduce everyone. Why pay more than 100 euros for something you can have free on your computer? And also, what would you say if we tell you that you can add books to your collection for free and legal? We are going to tell you how to do it.
Download the Kindle App for PC or Mac
First you need the Kindle application, which you can download for Windows and OS X. The arrival page will let you choose between the options of Android, iOS and PC or Mac, but when you click on the button the web will choose the Suitable for your operating system. When installed, open it.
The next thing is to enter your user credentials, that is, those of your Amazon account. Note that if you use the two-step authentication system the application will not let you log in, and you will have to solve a CAPTCHA continuously. To solve this, enter your password followed immediately by the authentication code in the key field. If you do not have an account, the application will allow you to create one.
Looking for free books
If you have purchased an eBook on the Amazon Kindle Store, the titles you already own will be automatically added to your library. To start reading them, double click on them. You can even download them by right clicking on the book to read them offline.
If you do not have a title, you can get more by entering the store through the shortcut that you will see in the upper right corner of the application. If you do not want to buy a book yet, you can get free titles legally through Amazon.
The store page opens. In the menu to the left, look for the section Offers and low prices. When the page opens, in the header you will see a link with the title Free eBooks. That’s where we’re going to start looking, so click on it.
What you will find here are classics of universal literature, with titles such as Romeo and Juliet or The Divine Comedy among a very wide selection. You can see works in Castilian, English and French, although the web also allows you to search in other languages like Catalan, Basque or Galician.
When you have found one that makes you especially excited to read, click the Buy button in a click and then select the device in which it has to be delivered. In this case, choose the option On the Kindle for Your User’s PC .
And with this, you would have it all done. As we have already said, double click on the new book to start reading it. The interface is very similar to that of a PDF file reader, with several shortcuts that will help you customize your experience: you can adjust the font size, font size, words per line, screen brightness and Color, among other things.
