Mercedes-AMG will use the upcoming Geneva Motor Show to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a series of special editions of several of its models. The star is the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50, although we will also see in the Swiss quote special variants of the C 63 and C 63 S Cabrio or the C 43 Coupé and Cabriolet. All of them receive aesthetic touches and a greater offer of equipment. Lets go see it.
The GT C Roadster Edition 50 is the most interesting model of these editions, and will be limited to only 500 units. It is recognizable at a glance thanks to two body colors “design” (graphite gray magno “design” and white cashmere) and details color glossy black as the heel, the splitter, the slats of the grille Panamericana, the rear diffuser or Embellishments of the exits of exhaust, among others.
The AMG forged wheels in black chrome, also will match the exterior details, but perhaps the most exclusive interior: leather nappa in black and pearlescent silver, gray stitching diamond pattern, embroidery GT Edition 50 in Headrest, AMG Performance wheel lined in Dynamica microfibre (leather back) and with silver center mark, also silver colored belts, inserts in chrome black or distinctive Edition 50.
The passenger compartment also incorporates the interior package Night, which includes black elements such as steering wheel spokes, shift cams or door trim molding. Where there is no change is in the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo propeller, which develops 557 hp and 680 Nm of maximum torque. The seven-speed automatic transmission is located on the rear axle (transaxle) and allows a 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 316 km / h.
C 63 Cabrio Ocean Blue Edition
The second of these editions, based on the C 63 Cabriolet and limited to 150 units, is called Ocean Blue precisely because of the ‘dark ocean blue’ color of its acoustic fabric hood, exclusive to this variant and also used in front elements, The rear, the seams of the upholstery – which is ‘crystal’ – or the central tire cap. The bodywork, as in the case of the GT, is offered in two colors: white cashmere magnum and magna selenita gray, and both mirrors and heels or certain details of the bumpers are in the same exterior color.
The appearance of the C 63 Cabrio Ocean Blue Edition as rounded AMG forged wheels in titanium gray and 19 – inch front and 20 inches rear. In the passenger compartment, it emphasizes the upholstery of nappa leather in gray, the inserts in carbon fiber in matte silver finish, seats with Airscarf of series and embroidered AMG logos in the headrests, distinctive Edition in the center console and steering wheel in nappa leather with moldings In black, silver buttons and flattened, inherited directly from the S 63 4Matic Coupé.
Mechanically there are no changes, but this edition is offered for variant C 63 and S. Thus, the 4.0 – liter V8 biturbo engine can develop 476 hp or 510, as appropriate. Both are automatic (seven gears), reach a maximum speed limited to 250 km / h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 and 4.2 seconds, C 63 and C 63 S respectively.
C 43 Night Edition
Finally, the C-Class of access to the AMG range, in Coupé or Cabrio bodies, receives a Night Edition edition featuring black exterior details (such as diamond grille points, heels, details on the bumper, bezels Exhaust or the lip of the trunk lid). The multi-spoke light-alloy wheels are 19-inch and also finished in black, but with matt finish and bright contour in contrast.
Inside also continues the protagonism of the black: performance steering wheel lined in Nappa leather and microfiber Dinamica (flat and black) or specific distinctive Night Edition in the console. Under the hood, whether Coupé or Cabrio, the engine is a 3.0-liter V6 of 367 hp and 520 Nm, capable of propelling the coupe from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds and the Cabrio in 4.8 seconds. Both are limited to 250 km / h.
All these special editions are available for booking from next March 6, although deliveries will not begin until June, except for the AMG GT C Cabrio Edition 50 that will arrive a month later in July.
