Tempting as it may be, delaying the move process can create problems, so don’t leave the packing of your belongings until the last minute. You probably have more than you think you do, so make time to bubble-wrap everything carefully to ensure nothing is damaged on the way. It’s also a great opportunity to get rid of unwanted clothes or other sundries, as the carriage amount will be a lot less.

Keep plates and crockery handy, as you will need these as soon as you move in. The same applies to towels and hairdryers. Other larger items like paintings and smaller belongings such as books and ornaments should be non-essential items. If necessary, these can go into storage until you have the first phase of the unpacking sorted.

Always remember to label the boxes so that you know what is where. Be specific and list the items in each box, such as ‘cups and saucers’ and ‘summer clothes’ as this will make the unboxing and sorting for storage so much easier.

Seal and Label All Boxes

Ensure that all items are carefully packed and that the boxes are sealed and labelled. If you are on the move and you require a Bristol removals company, then imoveremovals will be happy to help you take the stress out of moving.

According to This Is Money, the cost of moving in Britain went over £10,000 on average last year. People moving home spent on average £10,047 per move.

One top tip is to roll clothes rather than folding them. This saves space. If you want to maximise the use of space, stuff your shoes with smaller items. Towels and bedding can be used for wrapping and padding for furniture.

Use pill cases to store your earrings and rings, and don’t pack jewellery and smaller valuable items with your clothes. Put them in your handbag or in a holdall and carry them with you when you move to your new home.
